Details: Add a magnificent Oriental accent to your decor with this stunning black lacquer console table with jade stonework and handcrafted Mother of Pearl inlay. This masterful piece features a traditional scene in which the women on the large cabinet doors commune in a courtyard typical of Ming and Qing dynasty nobility. The women are exquisitely rendered in intricately hand-carved and raised jade and Qingtian stonework, as is the tree above them. On the side panel, a bird flies over "mudanhua" or tree peonies, China's national flower, the scene also beautifully created from hand-carved and raised jade and Qingtian stonework. Delicately hand-painted mudanhua also grace the top surface and embellish the cabinet's front borders. Artistically hand-painted patterns of ivy and plumb blossom petals grace the front edge of the top surface and additional flora embellish the inside of the doors and the cabinet's back panel. Multiple applications of black lacquer create the lustrous base coat. The raised sides and the hand-carved trim which supports them give this piece an additional Oriental flair. Gleaming, custom brass hinges and handles adorn the door and stylized "xi" character handles, representing joy, provide access to the large interior storage space and convenient upper drawers. A peach key latch keeps the doors securely closed. Open the doors and drawers to reveal the spacious storage areas.
